New blog, new design. I've been wanting to redo it all for a while, but I just haven't had it high enough on my priority list to get it done. There comes a point, however, when a design from grade 11 is simply not good enough anymore. I promised myself there would be no updates until a new template was created, and I've half kept that promise. This is hopefully a temporary look while I get organized.

More important than that, however: with a new blog comes new news! I would like you all to meet Shadow, the newest member of my family!

Shadow is a 3.5 year-old from the Victoria SPCA. She's a border collie X, maybe with a bit of lab, maybe with something else in her. She's a sweet, shy, friendly little girl, who hopefully will fit into our household and lifestyle well. I think she'll like the hikes and I have my fingers crossed that she'll ignore the cats! We're her third family, so she's a little bit broken, but still good. Nothing wrong with her that some love and patience won't fix, as far as we can tell. Tonight we go to buy everything a doggy needs and tomorrow we bring her home, just in time for the Christmas holidays to begin!

In knitting news, dishcloths are in! I have millions of these to knit, so I thought I might make it a bit more interesting by finding a different stitch pattern for each one. So far so good, although I seem to have a knack for digging up stitch patterns that use twice as much yarn as a straight knit pattern would. Maybe on Friday, when I'll be home from work to help Shadow settle in, puppy and I will have to head over to our LYS to stock up! What, dogs need to know where the yarn store is too, right?
