A really lame update
It seems as if I've forgotten about my poor little blog. If it's any excuse I've been busy some of the time over the past few months.
I've finally finished my degree. I took some intensive courses in May to hurry my way to the end. I'll have my official convocation in November, but for now I'm still allowed to say I've graduated.
After courses ended in May I spent a month and a half looking for a job. At first I was picky, wanting something that would take me where I wanted to go. I wanted work that would, in some way, open up opportunities in the publishing industry. I found part-time work as a news editor for a communications company that is based in Langford. But being only part-time, it didn't pay the bills.
After I couldn't find anything more concrete in publishing, I expanded my search to anything that would use my degree (English/History). Not much luck there, either. SO I expanded my search to A Job. That was my criteria. And I got what I was looking for.
At the moment I'm once again working in admin. I handle administration for sales reps for a security firm. If I wanted to give it the right spin to complement my resume, I could say I'm a financial proofer. I get contracts and cost estimates from the reps and I make sure they're done right. I also took the news editor job, so that's what I spend my weekends doing.
I work seven days a week, which will pay for student loans and upcoming vacations, so I might not have time for updates again soon. Especially seeing as for the first time I have a job where I can't get online! Yikes!
